Pabalat

Activity 1, October 28, 2021

Pabalat is a form of paper-cutting art style originating in the province of Bulacan in the Philippines. It involves making intricate papercut designs for wrappers used in pastillas which is a sweet milk candies. Pabalat usually used papel de hapon or japanese paper. Luz and Naty Ocampo are among the well-known practitioner of the Pabalat craft.

I am happy to be given an opportunity and to experience on how to make the Pabalat craft. I love those patterns that can be used for making it. My experience while making this craft was it requires a patience especially when cutting it so it won't tear so I need to slow down my cutting. Overall, making Pabalat craft makes me happy and it makes me feel calm and relax.
